There is plenty of padding on the back and in the shoulder straps. ComfortĪnother nice point about the Tech Pack (and all of Aer’s bags) is that they’re very comfortable. The look is largely the same but the bottom looks a little narrower. The Tech Pack 2 is slightly smaller than the Tech Pack 1. All in all, the materials on this backpack are premium. The front face is 840D nylon with a carbonate polyurethane coating. The Tech Pack comes in at 3.3 lbs and is made of 1680D Cordura ballistic nylon on the sides of the exterior. The tablet sleeves are big enough to fit 13" laptops with plenty of room to spare, so there should be plenty of space for a 15" laptop too. Main carry compartment - large open cavity with two tablet/document sleeves, and 2 small 6.5" x 5" elastic pouches at the bottom (adjacent to the tablet sleeves) that are great for cables or a mouse, etc.It does not have a false bottom so be careful when dropping your laptop in or dropping the bag on the floor. The differences are pretty minimal so I think a lot of the feedback on the Tech Pack will also apply to the Tech Pack 2. However, I’ll point out the key differences between the first and second iterations along the way. For this review I was using the first generation backpack. One thing to note is Aer has a second generation of the Tech Pack out now, aptly named the Tech Pack 2. This bag combines the sleek modern look that all of Aer’s bags are known for, with a really good level of comfort and a ton of organization into a backpack that can attract everyone from the businessman to the techie. I used the Tech Pack over a period of several months and am happy to say it is among my favorite EDC bags to use for work. So now we’re moving on to the Aer Tech Pack.
